A brief story about how it started: Peter Buitelaar. Born in Nijmegen/Holland in 1956 has been traveling in Morocco since 1978. Avoiding the cold Dutch winter was one of his first reasons to travel south and very soon he became impressed by the wild beauty of the Moroccan landscape.
Through the years he has done more than 75.000 km’s of tracks in Morocco, Algeria, Niger, Burkina, Mali, Ghana, Turkey, Syria, Jordan and became hereby an authority in desert-off-road-driving. Vehicles used during his tours: Nissan King-Cab, Toyota Hi-lux, Unimog 1300, Daf 4440 dutch-army-truck, Yamaha XT600 en BMW R100GS type “paris-dakar”, Mahindra Scorpio pick-up, Toyota Landcruiser BJ45, HJ45, HJ61, HZJ80 and now a Toyota Landcruiser KXR special edition.
